Zakopane Literary Festival 2026

Literature, culture, and inspiring meeting enthusiasts are invited to the 11th Zakopane Literary Festival, which will take place from July 24–26, 2026. It is one of the most important cultural events in Podhale, gathering outstanding writers, journalists, literary critics, and cultural figures from all over Poland. This year's edition is held under the theme "Stories from Here", referring to the identity, places, and history that shape our memory and literature.

The program includes author meetings, book discussions, debates with distinguished guests, events for children, literary walks, workshops, and a gala ceremony of the Zakopane Literary Award. Among the invited guests are, among others, Jerzy Bralczyk, Michał Ogórek, Jakub Ćwiek, Magdalena Parys, Krzysztof Varga, Ziemowit Szczerek, Monika Sznajderman, Inga Iwasiów, Wojciech Szot and many other renowned authors.

Most events will take place at Independence Square in the center of Zakopane, with part of the program also planned in other unique city locations. Admission to all events is free.
