It was created as a votive offering for saving the life of the Holy Father John Paul II after the attempted assassination on May 13, 1981. The history of the sanctuary began in 1951, when a chapel was built, in which special services were celebrated in honor of Our Lady of Fatima, preaching was given and people were taught how to fulfill the prayers of Our Lady of Fatima.
